Drawing on a decade of unfiltered parent voices from the Mumsnet forum, our report commissioned by the Future Minds campaign, explores how families in England have experienced and responded to the growth of children’s mental health difficulties between 2015 and 2025. It analyses more than 13,000 discussion threads and 227,000 posts, tracing how parental language, emotional understanding and advocacy have evolved alongside rising pressure on schools, health services, and family life. The findings offer powerful insight into a system that is not working for many children with mental health problems, and makes a compelling, parent‑led case for urgent reform.
