Alice Miles

Journalist and Policy Expert

Alice is an award-winning journalist and policy expert who has worked on reform programmes across Whitehall from children's social care to youth justice and resettlement. As deputy to Anne Longfield, she ran the Children's Commissioner's policy, public affairs and strategy teams and was seconded to the Cabinet Office to advise on response to the Covid-19 pandemic and post-Covid recovery for vulnerable children. With a PhD in the impacts of social inequality on low-to-middle income families, Alice is currently on external secondment from the Housing Department, where she designed the innovative Homes for Ukraine scheme for families fleeing war.
