Policy Researcher (secondments welcome)

The Centre for Young Lives is a new and growing innovative, independent think tank and delivery unit dedicated exclusively to improving the lives of children, young people, and families in the UK. 

The Centre for Young Lives’ experienced team provides informed and expert insight, producing quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, and campaigning for and delivering change.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to help shape high profile public policy to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families. 

Working with a well-respected team, you will help gather evidence, analyse data and develop policy solutions to build a robust and compelling case for change. You will have excellent communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team. You will have experience of conducting, writing, and delivering high quality, evidence driven research. 

Essential criteria:

  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative research skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience and ability to critically appraise and analyse policy and technical evidence at pace.
  • Excellent communication skills – from technical documents and research to face to face conversations.
  • A good understanding of policy making and development and how Government works, with a track record of contributing to high quality, evidence-driven policy development. 
  • Be solutions orientated with the ability to think creatively, maximise opportunities and overcome challenges.
  • Experience in organising parliamentary events and/or policy roundtables 
  • Enjoy being part of a team and collaborating with other people.
